Fics like i exist in two places; here and where you are

“Matt, no, I - of course I know, darling. Really, I do. And you are infinitely sweet and caring, and I should’ve known how incredibly perceptive and annoyingly insistent you are by now. But if I tell you, I’ll probably have to cut our weekend trip short in favour of searching for the deepest pit on Earth to throw myself into. And I’d really rather not face the embarrassment.” she says quickly and earnestly. As she speaks, something clicks into place for Matt. Her persistent flirting and endless innuendo and a problem entirely too embarrassing for her to articulate to him that affects every facet of her life- “Oh,” he says, and Alex closes her eyes and sighs in defeat. He looks at her as though he’s seeing for the first time. “Alex.”
