A Dark Reign AU: Following the events of Civil War and Secret Invasion, Steve Rogers is dead, & Tony Stark has been completely disgraced. While Norman Osborn is considered a worldwide hero. Norman and his group of 'reformed' supervillains are put in charge of the top levels of American security. Norman rebrands them as his Avengers, but realizes that there is essential element missing. He needs someone who will be 'the heart' of his team - the Captain America to his Iron Man. Norman's sights are set on his estranged son, Harry. 'The boy' objects at first, but after some coaxing and light threats, Harry agrees to stand with his father and become a beacon of hope as the superhero 'American Son.' Opposing Norman are the New Avengers - a group of superheroes turned fugitives - who seek to put an end to Norman's reign. POV characters: Harry Osborn, Norman Osborn, Daken Akihiro, Peter Parker, Karla Sofen, Jessica Drew, Carol Danvers, Logan, Bob Reynolds (Note: While my main inspiration is the 616 comics, there are some changes, and it's my intention to write the story so that it can be easily read by comic book readers and non-comic book readers alike.)
