Fics like bloody knees (that need bandaids)

“I have never lied to you. I have been wrong but never lied to you. I won’t lie to you. Do you trust me, Tommy? ‘Cos right now I feel like you don’t trust me.” These words Wilbur spoke, words that had calmed the strongest men and built entire nations had no effect on Tommy anymore. Tommy stood straighter, recognizing the tones in Wilburs voice. This same speech had been given before; he could tell. It was reused; an old war speech to rally beaten down and tired soldiers for one last hurrah. Tommy felt the familiarity of his friends- no, older brothers- voice seep into his heart. Or; I took a bit of the new Wilbur written lore and made it a sad one shot because I am running on a solid four hours of sleep and of course, spite.
