Balsa is staring at him again, and writing in that stupid notebook. He’s been doing this for weeks, and it’s driving Norton absolutely mad. It’s not constant, but often enough to be noticeable, often enough that he catches Balsa at it at the least likely times. He’s felt Balsa’s eyes on him during matches when he’s running from the hunter; during tasks as mundane as mealtimes; during his evenings playing cards with Bourbon’s crew. Hell, he’s even caught Balsa staring during arguments with Naib or Nair. It’s uncanny, being so seen, so observed. Uncomfortable, feeling the weight of that scrutiny. Norton hates it.
