Fics like a gift from the heavens

It takes him two days to come out of his heat, and when he does, it's to the news that he's going to marry Wu Xi. He isn't surprised. He doesn't have it in him to be. He simply accepts the emperor's decree and refuses to look Helian Yi in the eyes, going through the motions of a soon-to-be bride while everyone else plans their wedding. But in the moments he spends alone with Wu Xi, he doesn’t think that he could ever be happier. Wu Xi insists on courting him in small moments even though they are long past that stage. He is given flowers and treats and small trinkets. Some of them are things that make Wu Xi think of Jing Qi, and some of them are things that Wu Xi simply thought he would like. If for no other reason than that, Jing Qi adores and saves what he can. Sometimes Wu Xi stares at him in wonder, and when Jing Qi asks why, Wu Xi only whispers, “Because you’re mine.” jing qi is forced into heat by helian zhao. wu xi takes care of him.
