Fics like My love is the killing kind. (legacy version)

“I’ve had an awful day,” Caitlyn bit out, “so if you don’t mind making this easy for me, I’d appreciate it.” “You’ve had an awful day?” the creature asked, “Cupcake, you’re not the one who was shot.” Caitlyn froze, both pistols wavering in midair, then lowered with a stunned expression. She took in the yellow eyes, the hulking red fur, the sarcastic tone, and all at once she was assailed by memories - of running in the fields outside of Piltover, lying on her back in the green rolling hills, cheek to cheek with a stout, fit teenager with eyes like ice and a mouth that spelled out trouble. “Vi?” Caitlyn asked. --- (Post-Apocalypse AU - Caitlyn is a Hunter, tasked with capturing escaped 'creatures' by the Academy, a governmental force that trains soldiers. One of the creatures she's sent to extract uses a familiar nickname.) This version of the story has been abandoned, and is being re-released. This version is being left up for comparison and nostalgia's sake, and also because I can't bear to delete it.
