Alex's throat caught, watching Morgan sit there with that little frustrated frown on their face as they idly fidgeted with the salt shaker. They looked so defeated, discouraged, in a way that Alex hated to see them. Because Morgan was never down and out, they were persistent and capable and enthusiastic. They were tenacious, optimistic, utterly undeterred by most obstacles. Morgan was the one person Alex thought could do absolutely anything if they really wanted to. If Morgan wanted to take over the world, Alex's only question would be "what's the plan?" -- Or: 5 times S Tier saw something in D Tier that no one else did and 1 time they finally fucking said something about it.
