Fics like Fire, Love, and Other Things That Hurt
Ochako is a mother on the run- her sole focus is to protect her daughter as she flees her violent & powerful husband. She settles in a small city near the ocean filled with eccentric, quirky, and kind people- the kind of people she had forgotten exist. Katsuki Bakugo, former firefighter, retired after a severe injury. He’s adjusting to his new limitations and life back in his childhood home, but the idea of needing, or being needed, by anyone is nowhere on his radar. And he certainly has no interest in striking up a friendship with the newest little brat to move into Musutafu, no matter how fuckin’ cute her cheeks are or how gutsy her mother is. Both have been through hell and back again- desperate to hold on to what they have and terrified of what opening their hands and heart to each other will mean letting go of. CW: Domestic abuse and violence If you know anything about me, you know my stories always have happy endings! But I also want to handle the reality of domestic violence with care and honesty. So if that is triggering in any way, tend to your soul, friend. I will have more specific tags in each chapter just in case there are certain iterations of DV that are particularly triggering.
