Fics like The Church of the Diamond Cross
Peridot is an anxious mess who struggles with accepting her identity as a queer woman. Lapis is a trauma-riddled runaway with no emotional regulation. When Steven brings Lapis into Peridot's life, the two slowly bond over their shared religious guilt and learn how to be human after escaping The Church of the Diamond Cross. ---------- Or, the Crystal Gems are cult survivors who escape a horrific evangelical church.
