Fics like A Step in the Other Direction (Original)

A package wrapped in a silver ribbon arrives for the Hero of Hyrule—an Ocarina, to be exact. He has no one he can turn to, except the one person who despises him. Princess Zelda summons the champions and brings it to the Temple of Time to be buried forever. But something possesses Zelda to play the Ocarina, only for them to find themselves one hundred years in the future, in a Hyrule they do not recognize. They want answers, and the rugged Hylian who claims to be a descendant of the Hero won't give them any. The more they dig, the more they discover what really happened one hundred years ago... **Dates at the beginning of each chapter for your convenience
