Fics like To Better Beginnings

Wilbur nods, keeps smiling until Phil leaves. Only then does he drop his backpack and duffel bag on the floor, take a shuddering breath and will himself to keep it together. This is temporary. His parents aren’t abusers, they’re lovely people with good jobs and good connections. They’ll go to trial and everyone will find out that Wilbur is just being dramatic and then he’ll go home to a house that is made to look warm when it is really just cold. Or, Wilbur has recently been moved to a temporary foster house due to his parents upcoming trial and learns what it truly means to be loved.
