Fics like Objects of Devotion

"Is that why you want me with you in New York?" Louis asked. "In case it's the end of the world?" Lestat looked at Louis strangely, his head tipped slightly to one side. His white hair fell against his shoulder, and Louis fought the urge to brush it back. They were in public, surrounded by mortals, but Lestat loomed so large in Louis's vision that none of it seemed truly real. "Would you be there with me if it was?" 1999. After months on the run from the Talamasca, Louis just wants to spend Christmas in New Orleans with Lestat. Will either of them ever manage to say what they actually mean? Featuring religious imagery and a trip to Montgomery Ward. Written for the Vampire Chronicles Holiday Gift Exchange 2021.
