Fics like in these dreams, it's always you

Sasha wakes up empty. She stares at the paint lumps on the ceiling with her mouth agape, frozen and still like a corpse. There’s this hollow feeling inside her, all-consuming and hungry, as if someone had stolen her insides and replaced it with thin, freezing air. Her heart hurts. Like an invisible hand was squeezing it, wringing it of the blood and love, and then the tears come—they slide down from the slope of her eyes and burn their way down her cheeks, her fingers curling against the cold sheets, lips trembling as her mind replays the worst parts of the dream—linen cloth against the sharp, steel sword. Imagining her palm swiping against its sharpest parts, crimson blood dripping into the soil, Anne’s words, too sharp and too cold, I want nothing to do with you— or, more than a decade later, Sasha gets the very same nightmare that has always haunted her sleep and wake.
