“Haunted. Like a ghost?” asked Tim. “Yeah, like a ghost. Why are you looking at me like that?” Tim tried his best to shift his face into one his mother would approve of, but not even years of training could remove the actual, visceral disbelief from his expression. “You believe in ghosts?” he asked, unsure of what else to say. “Obviously, why wouldn’t I?” “You just apologized for your father’s ghost talk,” Tim left the ‘obviously’ unsaid, but at this point, he wasn’t sure if it was obvious enough. “Because he is wrong, duh.” Tim stopped, unsure of what to do with that. So, the whole family had drunk the Kool-Aid, and they disagreed about what flavor it was. Great.
