Fics like uphill battles

In Tommy's left hand was a crumpled report card, wrinkled from his grip and innocently displaying his teacher’s remarks and his final grade for the test. He had walked slower, trying to delay his fate but just a few more minutes -- not even a few more hours because if he was late by anything more than ten minutes, whatever awaited him at home was even worse. Slowly pushing the door open, he winced as the door hinges squeaked obnoxiously, announcing his return. -- In a small village, nestled in the woods, is Tommy's home -- an assuming wooden cabin that has been all he has known his entire life. Just him and Dream, away from the rest of the world.
