Fics like the co-parent conundrum

For all their planning and conspiring, it’s not until Dean’s actually at the house that the reality of the situation hits him, and he thinks to himself: Jesus Christ, I was gonna pop a cap in a baby. Because— there’s a kid. Of course there’s a kid, Dean knew there was gonna be a kid, but it’s like— a baby. A newborn, all bright red and wrinkly and nestled against the warmth of Cas’ chest, his shirt unbuttoned to make space for it. The tuft of hair on its head is still gooey with placenta.
