Fics like Blood and Water

"The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb." -- Rabbi Richard Pustelniak This holiday season, Vexation of Spirit brings you family bullshit, with a side of murder and malfeasance. A strange system failure at Idlewood is preventing access to parts of patient and employee records, and it falls to Langly and Kim to figure out what's happening and how to fix it, before the missing information gets someone killed. Chaz's first hint something is wrong comes when Shadow's treatment fails to match the neurologist's orders. Reid and Alvez take on a twenty-year-old case in which the killer proudly admits to eleven murders, but has always held that two more were someone else's kills. A twentieth anniversary interview with a victim's sister reveals the last two deaths were a gay couple who didn't live together, and both came from intolerant families. Were one or both of the families involved in their deaths, or are they just as much a distraction as the other killer? And Reid gets more people knocking on his door in two days than in most of the preceding decade. [tags will update as the story progresses]
