Fics like Death Be Not

In a world where soulmates are common but not encouraged, Fitzwilliam Darcy has been eagerly awaiting his soulmate. He grew up watching a loving soulmate couple: his mother and father. Elizabeth Bennet, on the other hand, grew up with parents that found they were not soulmates, and they still seem . . . somewhat happy. Soulmates are a part of life, but they can be difficult to find in the staid society of Regency England. Every person has a band of a very specific color encircling the skin above their heart. It is often difficult to see people’s bands of colors without being disrespectful, so typically people simply try to guess what another person’s color is. For Darcy and Elizabeth, things take an interesting turn at Netherfield Ball when Elizabeth collapses into Darcy’s arms.
