Fics like Gurney's Meeting

“What’s in the bundle, Duncan?” Gurney asked, his tone dry. Perhaps a keepsake? It was hard to tell with the young man. His posture betrayed no ill will, neither jest, for once. It was more akin to pride, a different one than his usual strain as well. Duncan did not speak, and only sat across from him, placing his report half forgotten in front of him. Still smiling the least sardonic smile he had seen up until this point, Duncan carefully moved his arms, and slightly lowered the cape. In an instant, Gurney could feel the ground fall under his feet, his eyes widen in a mixture of alarm, and so much more. Duncan only smiled more broadly. Soft, downy tufts of black-black hair, framing the spitting image of the Duke and the Lady, were revealed. Two pudgy little fists lay on his broad chest, eyes closed in sound sleep, over dark green clothes that imitated the working uniform he, the Warmaster, wore himself.
