Six years ago Carol Marcus gave birth to Jim Kirk's son, dumping him and running as far away from the scandal as she possibly could. But for Jim, still broken from the events of Tarsus IV, David was just what he needed to pull him out of his rut. Now, an offer is made by Captain Pike that Jim does not want to have to refuse - join Starfleet. Become everything his father had been and more. But he refuses to leave his son - his whole world - behind.
