Fics like we'll burn that bridge when we come to it

Cloud Strife is not here for time travel nonsense, but regardless, he's trapped in the past and has to make the best of it. Perhaps if he kills enough people (aka Hojo) and destroys enough mako reactors, he stands a chance at saving the future. Unfortunately, he underestimated just how determined Zack, Genesis, Angeal, and Sephiroth are to bring him into the fold. When they capture him outside of Nibelheim, he discovers they intend to learn his secrets and turn him into their apprentice. Cloud has no intention of making this easy - but maybe, just maybe, he'll find a home anyway.
