Fics like So pure in thought and word and deed

“It's no use, old chap. Some brigands and vandals have locked us in here against our will.” I turned, and I confess that for some moment my breath was taken away. Impossible as it seemed, there was only one occupant in the cooling room. Raffles reclined on one of the couches, my own favoured couch, in fact; and it was not his presence but the fact that he was uncovered by any sheet that gave me pause. He lounged back, unclad in all his long leanness and unabashed by how exposed his position was, and it was not only his legs that were impressively long. My cheeks burned with a fire that owed little to the heated rooms, and I hurriedly averted my gaze. “Raffles,” I began, but he lifted a languid hand. “I’m afraid you have mistaken me for someone else,” he had the impertinence to say, and his remarkable eyes glistened like stars in his handsome face. “My name is Smith.”
