Fics like Son of Grim (1st year)

What if Harry got up and walked away after being left at the Dursley’s doorstep in the early hours of a November morning and the Dursley family never knew? "A breeze ruffled the neat hedges of Privet Drive, which lay silent and tidy under the inky sky, the very last place you would expect astonishing things to happen. Harry Potter rolled over inside his blanket. He would not be asleep for long. A noise in the distance aroused the sleeping boy from his slumber and he looked around, confused, and not knowing where he was, or why he was taken there. Wriggling out of his blanket the young boy stood up, the blanket and the letter dragging behind him as he left the doorstep of number 4, Privet Drive. All while people meeting in secret all over the country were holding up their glasses and saying in hushed voices: “To Harry Potter — the boy who lived!" But the boy did not live through the night, not exactly, he just didn’t die either, not exactly. For now the boy would exist, raised between the mortal plane and that beyond the veil. He was the last son of the line of Grim, a heritage that became his the moment his soul left his mortal body."
