Fics like A Crash Course on Space

Tommy’s lungs burned as he coughed. He coughed to the point it hurt, and then when he went to draw in a breath, smoke filled his lungs again. He hacked and spat, and tried desperately to breath. He didn’t understand what was going on. Tommy fought to make sense of his surroundings, but the panic crowding his mind threatened to overwhelm him. There was a weight on his legs. A really heavy one. He couldn’t move and he couldn’t see anything past the black smoke filling his vision and lungs. Something crackled nearby and a warmth was growing to his left. The ship had crashed. The thought hit Tommy like a hammer. This was a crash and he was stuck in it TLDR: Tommy's ship crashes on an alien planet and the rest of the SBIs are sent to figure out what the fuck happened. Tommy is human, the rest of the SBI are not. Oh, also humans are a new species.
