Fics like When You’re Broken Down, We’ll Build You Up Again

Together, the trio enters the cell, Ranboo taking the lead and standing protectively in front of Tommy and Tubbo, refusing to let Dream hurt them anymore. Except, instead of being met with the cruel, angry tyrant they remember, they're all hit with the foul, putrid odor of moldy and decaying potatoes. And when their eyes adjust from the harshness of the lava curtain to the otherwise dark cell, all they see is red. Blood. It’s everywhere. Vibrant blood-red splotches cling to the walls, some patches a dark, ugly brown from age. And huddled in the corner of the cell rests Dream. At least, they assume it’s Dream, because the man with wild, terrified eyes, his breaths coming much-too-quickly from debilitating fear, is nothing like the monster that they’re all so familiar with. Despite all the conflicts they’ve had with Dream, they just can’t walk away from this inhumane treatment, especially since Dream has already been in this truly awful cell for over a year. And so, even though each of them is nervous and afraid, Bench Trio decides that it’s time for a much-needed prison break.
