“Well kid,” Ichigo sighs as he brings one hand up to tap a finger gently against the baby’s pert little nose, “guess this means I’m your daddy now.” Almost as if it can understand him, and hell it probably can, the baby grins up at Ichigo, rosebud mouth splitting wide in a gummy grin as those vibrant eyes almost glow. Yeah, definitely not a normal baby by far. But, regardless of all that, Ichigo can’t deny that a part of him, the part that’s been numb and dazed and aching for so long now, is almost excited. He’s not alone now. There’s someone here, pressed against his chest and held safely in his arms, that needs him. Ichigo will handle anything else that might happen as it comes.
