Clary's introduction to the Shadow World goes a little differently when she accidentally befriends Alec Lightwood thinking he's just a little odd and a petty criminal. Or: New Yorker Clary thinks Alec's Shadowhuntering is just par for the course in the city. They become...friends. The events of canon are altered slightly by this decision. - "Alec sighs deeply and downs the rest of his drink in one. He pulls a small dagger out of seemingly nowhere and places it on the table. It’s also covered with the same little tattoos. “Are you crazy?” Clary hisses, rushing to throw her cardigan over the weapon. “Do you want to get arrested?”" * "Shadowhunter training, she finds out a week later after arranging a time and date with Alec via text (which, weird, they have each other’s phone numbers now), consists mostly of her falling on her ass. Alec seems to take great pleasure in flipping her during staff training. His moves are quick and smooth, catching each of Clary’s blows with no trouble at all. Even his hair remains perfect and untouched."
