Fics like right where you left me

“We’ve got a body.” It’s nearly midnight and Nancy is already in pajamas with a cup of chamomile steaming between her palms, but she perks up at Abe’s words, tinny through her phone’s speaker. After all, it’s been years since Horseshoe Bay had a proper murder to investigate. “Drop me a pin,” she says, tea already forgotten. “I’ll meet you.” *** Five years have passed since Ace left on his road trip, and he still hasn’t returned. A heartbroken Nancy is working as a police consultant when she gets called in on a case that quickly turns personal.
