Fics like Strike of Lightning

Arthur reevaluates how well he knows his best friend and Court Sorcerer. Arthur had assumed that Merlin would be a fire mage. He wasn’t sure when exactly he had come to this conclusion. Perhaps it had stemmed from years of watching Merlin effortlessly light their campfires. He had thought Merlin had shied away from using fire magic in battle because it was too flashy and he was so used to hiding in the shadows. Or maybe that it was some ingrained aversion to watching people burn after witnessing countless burnings in Uther’s reign. Arthur had never suspected Merlin might have an affinity for anything other than fire magic.
