Fics like Gentle Beeping (A Story Based On Cabinet Man)

For the last few years, something has been brewing in Neil Dahmer's electronic repair workshop, where it sits in the shadow of Litwak Town Arcade. He and his partner, as well as lifelong best friend, Jack Stanley, have been tirelessly working to invent a new technology that will change both of their lives forever - for better, or perhaps, far, far worse. This is my interpretation of what happens in the song Cabinet Man by Lemon Demon, before the story the song tells. Please read the tags for specific content warnings! Technically there's not really any violence in the traditional sense but I do feel like the tag fits for other reasons, but mostly for graphic description and one of the other tags. Note: Until the final chapter is posted (chapter 14), this story is still actively being edited. While the main plot of the story and the conclusion I predetermined months and months ago will never change, smaller details might change. If something seems contradictory to something you read in a previous chapter, it's likely I realized it needed retroactive editing so the timeline and plot make more sense. If you have any questions or if you have noticed a contradiction I haven't, feel free to leave a comment. :)
