Fics like Shimmer

“Maybe they’re traumatized,” Dr. Darwish said. She was standing behind the thick glass wall that looked into the quarantined zone. Even behind the barrier, she was encased in a starchy yellow level A hazmat suit. Dr. Salsworth looked through the glass, into the expansive quarantine room. Inside were heavy white tarps that separated the area and covered the large, clear plastic cubes that housed each of the four. They’d kept them all separate. Trauma was a possible explanation for their long silences, but that was what Dr. Salsworth was about to find out for herself.
