Some days Percy will tell her all about the rocks he's found. He'll tell her about his scans and how excited Control sounds. She can't hear Control; she can only hear Percy. But she doesn’t mind. He's good company. Sometimes he tells her stories. He isn't supposed to. Every time he starts a story, an error message pops up. "NON CRITICAL USE OF RESOURCES" Ginny has to fight against her Code to hear the stories. The Code tells her that error messages are bad. They mean she's failing. Ginny likes Percy’s stories, even though she knows that he isn’t supposed to tell them. They’re like the woman with the kind eyes. Sometimes, the Code is wrong. Some things are worth keeping. So she closes the error messages and circumvents the Code. The first time was difficult, but now it’s gotten easy. She barely even registers the alarm anymore.
