Fics like never fallen from quite this high

hope is a fool’s devotion, taeyong thinks. there had been a point when he’d hoped—against his better judgement, against what he knew to be the true reality of things—that he and johnny might actually get to have a happy ending. what a wonderful thought that had been, what a sweet sort of fever dream, thinking that he and johnny could have a happily ever after. taeyong sniffles, squeezing his eyes shut against the onslaught of new tears, but yet they still fall. taeyong curls further into himself, his busted lip throbbing with his frantic heartbeat, a painful reminder of reality. there are no happy endings here.
