Fics like The Definition Of Insanity

Makoto couldn’t remember when or how things had gone wrong, different and so obscene. But when he looks at himself, at what had happened, what had become, all that he knows is that he’s stuck in an endless replay of the year before the Fall – of the best and worst year of his life, of the year that marks the moment he truly lives, and the year that marks his death into its obituary. And he’s doomed to relive it all, over and over and over until eternity ends— Or so he’s thought. But this time, after an umpteenth time of the cycle of death and rebirth, he’s greeted by two things that shouldn’t exist on his train towards Iwatodai; Ryoji standing by his side, looking just as human and as dumbfounded, and a strange girl with ruby red eyes and auburn hair that wears the very same headphones as his standing right across from him. //or, Makoto is stuck in a perpetual time loop, only to one day (one time?) find himself in an entirely different one from the previous lives he had experienced before
