Fics like you’re the only friend i need

Dean should’ve known the Empty wouldn’t let Cas escape unscathed. It's not that he wasn't prepared for something with the rescue going sideways; he had kinda been expecting Cas to tumble through the portal human, weak and tired, maybe traumatized from God knows whatever the Empty used to torture him. Dean didn't care, he'd take whatever he could get of Cas with open arms. He had not, however, anticipated returning with a suspiciously Cas-shaped child. Introducing Castiel, new-and-improved Angel of the Lord, currently about three feet tall and a good few decades younger than his vessel’s correct age. Baby in a trench coat, indeed.
