Cas looks pleased. “You’re like a..a..” Dean racks his brain for the term. “Firefly! No, wait. That’s a bug.” “Firecracker?” Cas suggests helpfully. “Yeah!” Dean smiles at him. His lips quickly tug back down. “Why can’t I remember, Cas?” Cas tucks his knees up to his chest, circling his arms around them. “I’m not sure. But I think I envy you.” His voice is wistful. Dean looks at him, brows knitting together. “You’re jealous of a brain that’s basically cheesecloth?” Cas gives him a small smile. “The memories I have right now, I would be happier forgetting.” A shadow drifts over his face. “Is it really so bad, Dean? To not remember things?”
