What kind of deity had he pissed off that he had the bad luck to wake up, groggy and discombobulated, to find himself tied spread-eagle to what appeared to be, from his limited viewpoint, some kind of intricately carved stone dais? (And -- most importantly -- how come this kind of shit never seemed to happen to Sanshu, despite the fact that the sly old fox had done far worse than Wu Xie ever had?)
