Fics like A ray of hope

One of the oceanic survivors has latent psychic abilities and a suspicious background; Ben Linus is extremely concerned that it means she's more special than him--- a threat to his power. He might have to get rid of her. But there’s an undeniable connection between the two, an eventual fragile trust, and compassion. A team-up between the wary allies may be exactly what The Island wants. (in other words, the author imagined what it would be like if Ben had someone willing to understand his point of view throughout the entire show, and this is sort of exploring that idea!)
