Fics like The Big Chair

Speckles liked to sit beside his owner, Missus, in her big chair, even if she let the books sit on her lap, instead. But when Missus dies and her daughter begins clearing out the house, Speckles runs away, finding the street a tough place to live, but preferable to being boxed up and put away like Missus' beloved books. Weak from hunger, he eventually stumbles into the Neko Atsume yard, where he discovers an unexpected piece of home, and peace of mind.
