Fics like building a boat with no blueprints

On a mission for the Council, Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi chases Darth Vader into a cave system on Umbara. Between one second and the next, what once was a murdering Sith lord is now a nine year old child. What is Obi-Wan to do? The answer is, of course, feed him, care for him, comfort him, soothe him, and do his absolute best to ignore the way that the actual Darth Vader has begun to show up in his dreams, as if the dark-sider is determined not to let him forget that the boy’s future is already set in stone. But is anything, really?
