“I believe it’s my natural right to indulge in horrible things once in a while.” Sirius sits with a plate of his own, smug smile cutting creases at the far corners of his eyes. “Take notes, Harry. Seven year olds can indulge in horrible things, too.” “It’s my natural right,” Harry says dutifully. “Brilliant boy,” Remus says, which makes Harry grin that crazy James grin, the one with too many teeth, the one that used to get Remus’s heart dancing in his chest and some sort of half-baked alibi stirring in his head. “Sirius is right, you know. You’re allowed to be wrong, sometimes. We’re all wrong sometimes. Except me. I’ve never been wrong in my life.” And Remus supposes that right there is the straw on the camel et cetera et cetera, because there’s a knock on the front door, two syllables, kar-ma. or, the gnomes have an ultimatum, remus has angina, and what the three stooges lack in finesse they make up for in rubber glove game. they also have muffins, but that’s unrelated.
