Fics like coastal waters

They reach the ocean two years after they come back to Earth. Some of the kids decide to stay with their parents, of course. But many of the Camp Jaha residents choose to come with them to the sea. All in all, when they arrive at the coast, the procession is 126 people strong. Clarke stands on the weathered highway, the weight of the pack on her shoulders suddenly lighter, so much so that she might float away. There’s a beach in front of the road, and beyond that, the ocean is an immense wall of blue. (Clarke used to live in space, but somehow the ocean looks bigger than the cosmos ever did.)
