Fics like Catching A Falling Knife

It's 1970, exactly ten years after Norman Bates was taken into custody and found to be an extraordinary individual who can change his dynamic based on which personality is in charge. While he himself in an omega, his mother is certainly not. His psychiatrist, Dr. Richman, doesn't think he'll ever bond with anyone due to his alpha side being so protective over his omega side. Meanwhile, Dr. Loomis has his hands full with thirteen-year-old Michael Myers, a budding true alpha whose muteness hasn't stopped him from challenging the older alpha. The boy's hobby of making masks has deviated into something a bit more concerning as of late, and Loomis wonders if one of the new nurses may have something to do with it. When Laraline Boone, a 22-year-old omega, filled out her first job application for Smith's Grove, fresh out of nursing school, she didn't think she'd find herself so enthralled by the older man who talked so fondly of birds, or by the younger boy with the scent of a full-grown alpha who gave her masks made from paper mache and matching rings made from broken and bent forks.
