Fics like The Course of a River

“Why did I have to run into Kassim that time?” What if he didn't? This is a politically convoluted story where Alibaba got to be King, was blackmailed to marry a royalty of Kou, and went through the process of elimination to finally tie the knot with Hakuryuu...or would he? AKA where the author has fun making Alibaba act Kingly and flirt with Kou Princes. Latest chapter summary: Hakuryuu steeled himself. “Please take me along with you, the next time you sneak out in Balbadd.” The fourth Prince watched those amber eyes widening in comprehension. “Hakuryuu…” there was awe in his face, a little disbelief, before Alibaba-dono took Hakuryuu’s hand and placed one knee on the ground. “Thank you,” he whispered reverently as he pressed his forehead against said hand. “I promise I will protect and take care of you.”
