Fics like Dies Dolorem

Slowly, losing the fight against the trembles shaking his hands, Alec unbuckles the archery guard on his wrist, his breathing quickening as he tries to prepare himself for what he knows is beneath. He feels brittle and fragile, as though the loose guard is the only thing tacking the pieces of himself together. Alec yanks it off and the breath is punched out of him in a wordless sound of pain and loss at the sight of the blank skin beneath, every trace of Magnus, of their marriage, erased as though it's never been, not even the silver scar from when the runes are removed through divorce remaining. _____ As a true nephilim, Magnus realizes he can bear runes in the time he's without his magic. However, the goal was always to get his magic back.
