Murdoc had his temple resting against the table, and was looking at her, sideways, like he couldn’t quite figure her out. Maybe he wasn’t even trying; maybe he was just that incredibly drunk. She reckoned that at age thirteen she knew a bit too much about how to look after people when they were drunk, but she didn’t mind. After months alone, Noodle finally tries to unpack what she learned about herself on her trip to Japan, and Murdoc tries to help.
