Hinata tilts his head ever so slightly, eyes sparking. “Bluffing’s a game, Kageyama, you just need to learn how to play it right.” Kageyama Tobio is a successful defence attorney with everything he needs: a growing career, a steady queue of clients, and a reputation that's going to open doors for him. It's all going well - on paper. Until one day, when a teenage girl arrives at his office begging him to get her brother off the hook for a murder charge, and Kageyama finds himself defending Hinata Shouyou: a poker player with a reputation for being undefeated. It should be just another case. But Kageyama, realising that his life in law is perhaps too lonely, too stale, keeps this one client in his life. Because something about Hinata is addicting, and maybe this is just the gamble that he needs to take. (A lawyer AU; based on the events in the Ace Attorney series.)
