Fics like The Lofty and the Lowly

Tauriel's official story is that her parents were killed by orcs. She is a lowly Silvan elf and nothing more. Except that isn't true. None of it is. In an effort to protect the only survivor of a terrible kinslaying in his kingdom, Thranduil and Legolas craft a plan to shelter the tiny elleth. After all, if you tell a lie so many times, even you may start to think it's true... Takes place early on in Tauriel's life. This is the first of a series of stories on Tauriel's unusual upbringing as a ward in Thranduil's palace.
