Fics like Short Splice

Short Splice is a knot used to secure join between two pieces of stranded rope. Taehyung loses his soulmate when he's seventeen. Original prompt: Taehyung’s red string connects to nothing. Not since he was in high school and the pretty thread turned gray in the middle of geometry class, the end no longer disappearing in the general direction of his soul mate, but hanging limp and frayed. Seokjin died once. For approximately fourteen minutes and thirty-two seconds. Long enough for the fragile red string connecting him to his soul mate to snap. He wonders too often why anyone bothered bringing him back to life for this. Now both successful actors, fate brings them together on the same drama / film. Neither can deny the attraction and connection they feel. Is that flutter they feel in their gray soul mate strings trying to tell them something?
