Fics like The Shadows We Leave Behind (Come Back to Haunt Us in The End)

A young, 18-year-old Spencer Reid struggling to keep up with his Ph.D. studies and pay for his mother's care gets an offer that seems almost too good to be true, but is there really a choice in the end? The FBI is years away, and he needs help now. "It's just a job," and for the first few years, it had been. He began to wonder, years later, when exactly did he loose himself to that one simple job? I saw an underwhelming amount of Spencer Reid CIA agent content and decided to provide, (this will most definitely not be canon-compliant). DISCLAIMER: I do not own any of these characters (other than my OCs), all credit goes to the creators of Criminal Minds.
